pcp upset me.....

I went to my pcp no refferral. but was told to stick to my diet. If it has not worked in a year when is my weight goes up and down I am really ready for this surgery but I was told that I would take for ever to get this done I know all the steps you have to take but they made It seem like forever before I can get this done. Just need alitte inspiration right know have any, anyone,anybody,anywhere God bless....

Hi Tasha, Please continue with your quest. I read your profile and you are waiting for the packet from Dr. Bell. You didn't mention what insurance you have and you should be aware that some insurances require a 6 month doctor supervised diet. If that is the case with your insurance company at least you have have a start. Make sure you have your doctor document your progress or lack there of at least once a month. If your insurance company does not require that well you may want to consider a new PCP. I wasn't thrilled with my doctor's note and I call it a note as it was hand written on a piece of scrap paper that was attached with copies of my medical records for the previous 2 years. However my endrocronologist wrote a couple of wonderful letters that were included in that packet. You may want to talk to your RA doctor about this also. He may be more supportive. You can also request your records be sent to Dr. Bell or what I did was I requested them for myself and made copies (always keep copies of everything). Shedule your nutrition and psych appts and if necessary find another pcp. Good Luck!! Linda

Daer Tasha, My PCP doesn't want me to have this surgery either.Some people just don't get it! I ended up calling my GYN and he gave me a letter. My surgery is in 12 days! Good luck! Christine
