Funny smells?

I got my obesityhelp magazine yesterday and there was a pill advertisement for body odor and today I was on a site that was selling air fresheners. Is there something I don't know? Do we start to STINK after surgery? I never heard this before. I am a little confused. Has anyone post-op experienced this? Christine

You know I laughed when I first read this then I remembered my kids saying that I smelled even after my shower! But my kids are big teases. hahaha I do have a problem with fresh breath. Brushing & flossing isn't working. Teeth are fine Ithink its the protein. Anyone else have this problem too?

Oh my god . . . . . I am 4 weeks post op and my breath is AWFUL. It's called "ketosis", something to do with the body burning fat and giving off keytones. Dr. says it's normal and to eat a little bit of natural sugar to help (peaches, etc). I guess if it's from burning fat I'll take it !!! No other body odor that I know of... and I'm sure my family would tell me if I did LOL

I think there are some "de-toxifying" smells/emissions in the beginning, but nothing that would require any special products. I think it's a matter of a company trying to separate you from your wallet!! That's the last thing you need to concern yourself with. But it is a very good question!!

Hi Christine I "think" what you are talking about is a pill called devrom or something similar. i know a person who had "DISTAL" gastric bypass where they bypass alot more of the intestines and she has VERY VERY stinky gas and bowel movements so she takes this pill and it makes it not so horrible to the people around her. she said sometimes its uncontrollable depending on what she eats.
