MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!
Dr Aranow,
You did my By-pass approximately 10 yrs ago I was suppose to get the admnoplasty done but needed to wait. I have now decided on having the surgery done unfortunately you do not accept Husky D I was very comfortable with you for my bypass and trust you that you wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction. I have all the confidence in the world that you are one of the best surgeons. My problem is now that I have been to your office recently and was seen by Dr Robles who is very nice I wanted to see you but you don't accept my insurance. The excess skin I have is causing me back pain and it gets infected very easy, I also have a hernia that needs to be repaired after my initial consultation with Dr Robles he told he can do the Hernia repair but not the skin removal. Could you please recommend a plastic surgeon who does accept Husky D I am having a difficult time with locating one and trust your opinion on this.
Thank you
Phylles

Just a reminder for all Medicare subscribers:
Medicare ONLY accepts programs and surgeons who are designated as Centers of Excellence. I've seen several postings here mentioning programs that do not have this designation. I regularly see patients who have been through all the testing and prep only to be turned away because they are denied coverage for surgery at these non-COE programs.
If this is your situation, please feel comfortable in contacting my offices and we will do our best to expedite your surgery at Middlesex hospital in Middletown. We have been providing bariatric care since 2001 and were one of the first programs in the country to be recognized as a center of excellence.

Dr. Robert Bell and Dr. Andrew Duffy w/ Yale New Haven Hospital accepts all insurance including Medicare and Medicaid. Their office number has changed. The new contact numer for their office is 203.785.6060. The Drs. and ther staff are awesome.
Depending on which procedure you want VSG, RNY or Lap, make sure the insurance covers the procedure. For instance, Medicare does not currently cover the VSG procedure (Sleeve). I would hate for anyone to go thru all the requirements and end up not getting the surgery you desire. Check with insurance 1st. The Drs. office staff can tell you the procedure codes (CPT) for each procedure. Call the insurance and they will tell you if it is covered or the office staff can do it.

The Saint Francis Bariatric Center does I just had mine in April by Dr. Raftopoulos. He is an incredible surgeon *****ally cares about his patients' progress. His safety record is tops and he posts those stats stats in the waiting room. Under his guidance I have lost 66 pounds with 22 to go and feel great.
Hello everyone I am new to this forum...I am doing the pre-op work up and I am doing my surgery with fairfield county bariatrics. They have offices in Fairfield and Norwalk, CT. I haven't decided about the doctor either neil or craig floch (they are brothers) but they both take MEDICAID. Once i finish my pre-op stuff they will submit the paper work to medicaid for approval. if you have any questions please feel free to contact me!!
