MEDICAID AND MEDICARE SURGEONS LIST!

Hello Members,

On a daily basis we get calls from members in desperate need of surgeons that will accept Medicaid and or Medicare for Bariatric surgery.  It breaks our hearts when we have to say "we don't know of any surgeons in your state we can refer you to". 

Can you please help us? If you know of any surgeons in your state that accepts Medicaid and or Medicare, will you list their:

i am on medicare and medicaid spend down,and danbury hospital accepted mine april 6th 2006,however you have to have medically proven it as nessessary for health reasons.,i think st.francis accepts it too but not sure,that was where i was going,but sometimes they only accept those hospitals that are declared "centers of excellence." as far as i know,middelsex,danbury and st.rafaels are three of them. hope this was of help to you and them...happy holidays,,,cyndee

St. Francis in Hartford is a Center of Excellence...Dr. Barba accepts Medicare...not sure about Medicaid....Dr. Aranow in Middletown also accepts Medicare

Dr. Shady Macaron in Middlebury accepts medicaid and does his procedures at St. Mary's in Waterbury.

I had my surgery done in December of 2005 and is was funded by Medicare.  Here is where I had it done:

HI AM A POST OP PATIENT AND I NEEDED TO KNOW IF YOU KNOW OF ANY BREAST SURGEON WHO ACCEPTS MEDICAID/MEDICARE FOR A BREAST REDUCTION , I HAVE LOWER BACK PAIN AND SHOULDER PAIN AS WELL SUFFERING REALLY BAD.

Just read this on the medicaid post... I'd post this question as a new topic...it's way at the bottom of this topic and no one goes there, I don't think... I've not had plastics, so I don't know... Paula
