Hi Everyone, Well in one week I will have hit my 5 month mark from surgery. All is going really well. I have one 'little' thing that is bothering me and I wanted to see if anyone else out there have experienced the same issues as me. I have had absolutely NO sex drive whatsoever since my surgery and it is now beginning to worry me. I feel badly for my husband....and I am worried that I will never get it back. has anyone else had this issue...and has it gone away???? A little spice to spice up the board today! Looking forward to hearing from you all!

Hi Joann, As of right now I am still pre-op, but I wanted to tell you that there is a "before & after wls" messageboard on this site. People have actually been talking about that very same issue, so you might get your answer there too! Christine

Hi Joann, I am 1 year out, and sadly, I am in the same boat as your are. I hate it. I feel like there are so many people that write about being just the opposite how it's increased and me? NADA......I intend on bringing this up with my surgeon, embarassingly enough when I see him next week. I have no idea why it went away, but then again I also have insomnia that I never had before too. So there are definete changes that have happened as a direct result of this surgery. Again, I wouldn't trade it for the world but these are "side effects" I need to address. My husband doesn't even know since I am just a good faker! I'll let you know what I find out when I go to see my doc. I am hoping for good news! hugs Cheryl

Hi Joanne! Let me tell you, I'm in the same boat! I'm a little over 5 months out, and except for fleeting moments, I have absolutely NO desire. I could live the rest of my life without sex & be perfectly happy, the way I feel now. I went to the website on Sex Before & After WLS, and at first it was filled with people having the same problem, but then it became a little more tawdry, so I stopped visiting the site. I think it's a pretty common effect. I'm going to ask my doctor about it as well, when I go next month. Now that we've added a little spice to the boards, we just have to figure out how to add some spice to our love lives, and we'll be in great shape! Take care Kathy F.
