Got a Date

Linda- I am so looking forward to meeting you on Wed. night. I will be there with my husband. Carolyn-thanks for your # and support. It will be nice to meet you at the Backus meeting and get to know each other. Cheryl-Thanks for your encouragement and support. Julie-OMG yes it was fast so prepare yourself. I did the Ketosis test and Deb goes how about May 10. I wanted to hit the floor. So hold on to your seat cuz the ride goes faster than you think. Keep us posted on how you make out. Maggie

Congradulations Maggie, I am very happy for you!!! Like everyone has said May 10th is right around the corner. Good Luck with the bypass I am sure the Doctor knows best. I was taken off my Diabetes meds the day I left the hospital what a wonder feeling. We will all be routing for you. Darlene

Darlene-Thanks for the kind thoughts and words. It's nice to think about no more diabetic meds and insulin. Jim- I love the "less of you comment" Thank you so much Kathy-Thanks for the prayers. I'm a little scared about this surgery, but I figure with all my health problems, this is a way of extending my life longer than it would have been. Maggie

Yippie!! Congrats Maggie! I could not be happier for you! That is exactly how it worked for me going thru Dr Valin. Went for my ketosis test then they said, ok, here is the calander, pick a date! I too was floored. Did they tell you about the pre-op diet? You do that the 5 days before surgery. Not as difficult as the ketosis one. But, forwarning...they tell you to drink fleet phosphate the night before...I got sick from it (but that's just me). Ask them if they can order you the pill to clean you out. I didn't know about a pill when I did it a couple of weeks ago but wish I did. Just think, 2 more weeks and the weight will be falling off of you. Congrats again!! I can't yet do the happy dance for you...so I'll just roll back n forth in my desk chair for now, lol. Linda

Maggie, Boy, one day that I don't log into the site, and YOU HAVE A DATE!!!! How excited are you?? I cannot believe that May 10th is ony two weeks away!! WOOHOOO!!!!! As far as RNY vs. Lap band, I think you made the right decision. I investigated the lap band, and I think RNY is the way to go. I am sooooo happy for you!! I'll keep you in my prayers on the 10th!! And soon I'll be joining everyone on the losing side too, I hope! JA
