Got a Date

Ok, so this five day diet thing has come and gone. (Thank God) I went to the Dr's office today expecting to only to the urine test and when they saw I was in Ketosis and had lost ten pounds they gave me a date. MAY 10TH....Oh my gosh I'm in shock... They had available appointments today so I was able to get all my pre op testing done. Talk about a whirlwind...Whew :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: The other thing is that after my consultation with Dr. Valin, he felt I was a better candidate for Lap RNY. This threw me a little and I needed time to process it. After talking about it with my husband I have decided to do the bypass. Dr. Valin said that with my co morbs., it would be better to help me rid myself of the diabetes and heart disease. So that's my news..... Thank you all so much for helping me through those five days!!! Maggie

Congratulations Maggie! I don't think you will be sorry for going with the bypass, though I'm sure all the information at once threw you for a loop. Wow Maggie! What a great Monday on such a gloomy day. I also echo that you will be happier you had the open. This way your doc can see all your little parts. The recovery is tougher for sure, but you are obviously a strong women and want this so badly to go through getting yourself into Ketosis. Congratulations!
