Insurance change :(

My employer has decided to switch insurances on us I currently have Anthem and have heard very good things about them. I am excited about having surgery and was not worried too much about being denied. THEN I receive a letter included with my paycheck that my insurance will be changing to Oxford on June 1st. I have heard very bad things about Oxford, and now I'm really worried they will deny me. Has anyone had any experience with Oxford?

Hi Amy - Haven't had any experience with Oxford, but I just read an article that UnitedHealth has just bought out Oxford. I'm not sure what that'll mean for your situation, but I thought it was interesting information. Best of luck on your journey! Hugs, Carla

Hi Amy - Just a follow-up. If you click the Insurers tab at the top of the page you'll find Oxford listed and people's comments about their experiences. Looked like a lot of approvals there! Good Luck! Carla

I had Oxford several years ago and they were very good, but I don't know their place on WLS. Christine
