Support Buddy

Hi Everyone, I have recently attented Dr. Barba's informational session. I am hoping to have WLS. I have my cardiac, pulmonary and psych eval scheduled for next week. I am turning 30 next month and have 3 boys...6, 11, 12. I live in Bozrah CT btw. I am interested in a support buddy or two... Either someone who is going through the process or has already had the surgery. It would be nice to be able to "talk" via phone or email. Please email me if anyone is interested [email protected]

Hi Amy, I thought I would respond to your post about the meeting at L & M so that you would be sure to see it! There is a meeting on Wed. April 28th at 7:00pm in the Baker Auditorium of Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London. The meeting is for both pre and post ops and not affiliated with any specific doctor. All are welcome to attend. You can probably get a schedule of future meetings there. I would highly reccommend your attending meetings both before and after surgery. They are really helpful and as my doctor says.....the people who are successful show up and those who don't show up are probably not doing great. I wish you luck on your journey. The change of insurances sucks. I don't know anything about Oxford but you might want to call them and see if they have any exclusions regarding weight loss surgery. If they do you might want to talk to your doctor's office and explain the situation. Maybe they can squeeze you in before June 1st. I would be glad to be a buddy or just someone to vent to. I live in West Haven so it is a hike but there is nothing like email and the phones!! Linda

Hi Amy, I am in Taftville so I am very close to Bozrah, in fact it is where my husband grew up. I am 42 and have 2 boys 14 and almost 16. I had my surgery Dec. 1st and am doing really well.
