Hello everyone! It's been awhile since I've posted. The weather has been great and the boys are active in baseball and lacrosse so I have not been on the computer that much. I just wanted to share that I had my 4 month appointment with Dr. Aranow, though I'm almost 5 months at this point, but he was thrilled with my progress. These past 2 months I have had great weight losses and I am now down 87 pounds according to Dr. Aranow's scale. Life is feeling very good! I hope spring is being good to everyone else. Love, Carolyn

Congratulations!!! I'm 5 months out too, and down just shy of 70 lbs. -- wouldn't mind if that number were a little higher, but my BMI shows me as "Obese" -- not morbidly obese, not severely obese, just plain obese! I'll bet it's a lot easier running around with your kids in this beautiful weather this year. Enjoy it!! Continued great success! Kathy F.

Hi Carolyn. I have never posted on this Board before, as I am pretty active on the March board. Congratulations on your wonderful weight loss. I had my surgery with Dr. Aranow on March 8 and I am feeling pretty disheartened right now as I have only lost 31 lbs. in 6 weeks. In fact, the scale has not budged in the last 3 weeks. I am afraid that I will be the 1 in a million that fails after WLS. I am doing everything right, getting my protein in, not having any carbs at all (except 1/2 C. chili beans or black beans occassionally), drinking plenty of water. My question to you is do you recall any plateaus that had you very concerned in the first 2 or 3 months? If anyone else can help me understand what's going on, I'd really appreciate it. Otherwise, Dr. Aranow was terrific, I have had absolutely no complications. Thanks all. Maureen

Hi Reenie, I just e-mailed you a more in depth letter but I just wanted to say again, Keep the faith! In the beginning I think I had more plateaus than losses, but something turned the switch on and I'm on a roll. I'll take it for now knowing that the next plateau is around the corner. Good luck. Carolyn
