Hi All, I'm actually excited to say that I'm on my 6th day of the 2 week, 1000 cal. pre-op diet my Dr. Ehrlich requires. The final two days before surger are going to be clear liquids only. I'm amazed that I'm doing this!!! Talk about a reward at the end of this!!!! My surgery is a week from Tuesday and I am getting really excited. Can't wait to get rid of my leg and foot cramps and back pain, arthritis, high blood pressure and ALL that goes with being 327 pounds or many years. I'm 49 and with any luck, I'll be a pretty comfortable person by my 50th birthday this August. I just came across my winter coat, size 4X and realized that I truly will NOT be wearing it again this year. This is SO bizarre to think that I am finally going to reduce and be near-normal and be able to move around and walk and stand for more than 10 minutes at a time. It's been kind of a long journey to get here, in that I was denied from Aetna in October of last year and had to go on 6 months of supervised doctor weight loss attempts for 6 months in order to re-apply. Got my YES from Aetna on March 8 and it's been a LOOOOONG wait to get to this point. And I'm not the most patient person. Had my pre-op visit with Dr. Ehrlich on Wednesday and we're set to go. Just hope I don't get a cold in the meantime. I'm planning on attending the April 22 new pre-op support group at Norwalk Hospital and then there is really nothing left to do but go there and get it done. I'm really excited and really nervous. But Dr. Ehrlich said that in the 250 bypass surgeries he's done, they haven't had a blood clot victim yet. PLEEEEEASE don't let me be the first one. Well, I'm just so excited and had to share with you all. I only post once in a while here, but I read the posts every day. So, the best to you all and keep up the good work. I hope to join you on the other side April 27! Linda B.

Linda, Your date will be here before you know it!! May your slide to the losing side be as uneventful and pain free as possible. I know you are soooo excited. The next couple of days will go quickly and before you know it you are on your way to a new life. Give that coat away as you won't be using it again (well hopefully Spring is here to stay ) Can't guarantee all your aches and pains and medical issues will disappear completely but they will certainly be alot better. Good luck and keep us updated!!! Linda

Linda -- You're well on your way to a new you!! I'm an August baby too (baby being a relative word -- I'm 43!!) and I'm hoping to be looking fabulous by then!! Keep your spirits high, as you have so far, and you'll be through it in no time. The last round of giving clothes away to Goodwill (I'm on 8 bags and counting) included my size 20 coat. It was generously cut & pretty, but it's far too big for me to wear now. I'm hoping that the next time I need a winter coat, which I'm really not anxious to think about, my size situation will be COMPLETELY different! Good luck!!!!! Kathy F.
