GREAT MEETING!!
We had our UConn Support group meeting last night and Kim introduced the group to OH and went to our message board too. So count on seeing some new faces! People seem genuinely interested in coming to the board and using this site as extra support.
Of course Kim just HAD to use my Easter Candy post, boy she's lucky I love her so much!!
The thing she also emphasized was how we all met and how close she and I am Cathy Steele have become because of this site. We told them about our Kathy B Get to gether and how much fun it was. And then we had another clothing exchange. Jim, one of our members brought the left overs to our Ladies Auxilary thrift store in West Hartford, so if there is anyone in need of clothing, please check out this store.
I took today off (yesterday too) to be with my youngest to hang out during her vacation. I slept until 9:30 am, I have NEVER slept this late before. It was so nice and dark in my room and my DH is in NY for business so I just slept and got up and watched Dr. Phil. I may even just stay in my jammies and rent movies with her all day!! Yesterday we went shopping all day so we got that out of our systems. She and I are so much alike but in the weight category. She is thin and active I think somehow she missed the dreaded fat gene so prevalent in my family.
Well, enough chatter, hugs to all!
Cheryl
I'm not sure that's so bad -- I had my addiction to my morning line-up -- "Starting Over" on NBC (you build estrogen just by watching the show, I'm certain), Makeover Stories on TLC, then All My Children ... without fail ... every weekday for almost 2 months!! Dr. Phil & Oprah came in later in the day
I thought the meeting went great! Aside from a tempermental internet connection, everything went smoothly. I was so glad that so many people asked questions. We have a very friendly and open support group where we can all feel comfortable in speaking up.
Isn't it just awesome the bond that we can create with other people through our support group meetings and through this site.
I am thankful everyday for this surgery. This surgery not only gave me my life back but it gave me the oppourtunity to meet some truly wonderful people and create what I see as life-long friendships.
I could have stayed there talking all night. I used to be so shy and introverted... going through the surgery and losing the weight have also given me the confidence to speak up. Obviously, I could have never stood there in front of the support group and speak to that many people and answering their questions a year ago .
Much Love to you all,
Kim
