PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME I AM FASTING FOR A WEEK AND IT'S SO HARD
Hello my name is Tonya Sherrod, I will be getting the LapBand surgery on April 20, 2004. I had my last meal yesterday, and I have to do this fast for a whole damn week. I am so annoyed already because . I thought that I could at least chew gum, but they stated that will cause gas, and they stated that one of the patients weeks after her surgery swallowed the gum and it caused a lot of problems. I don't swallow my gum . I need someone to tell me what they did for freshness of breath , due to you not being able to chew gum.
P.S. my work email address is [email protected]
Tonya! Fasting for a WEEK??
Wow, they sure are changing the rules since my surgery. I wonder why these docs want to place more stress on an already stressful time. Understandably, you sound upset and need to get that "calm thing" going. As I said, this is already a stressful time for you for a multitude of reasons and breath should not be added to this list. Swallowing gum can be a problem for sure. If it were me, I would find a sugarless mint to suck on. We are all such oral people huh? I do notice chewing gum causes gas so I do also try to avoid it even though I love chewing. But try some tick tacks or something of that sort.
I'll also be honest with you, that post op, the least of my concerns was my breath. I wanted my hair and body clean. Especially my hair, that drove me crazy. We all have "our things" don't we!!
Hang in there and soon, it will be your day 4/20 is just right around the corner! I wish you the very best!
Cheryl
