Taking in Liquids
Why is it that for the past 4 days since my surgery I was not able to get much liquids in,,
today is a whole different story I'm so thirsty I been taking alot in and I still want to drink more but afraid to
does anyone have a clue why is this ?? I'm thinking maybe my insides were swollen before and now is back to some what normal . But what do I know I'm new to this.
Let me know what you think.
You may be right about the swelling...,Plus, your body just knows when it needs something...so, it gave you a thrist...another thing is, if you ate something very salty, it makes you thirsty, too.
Glad that you're rehydrating!

Like Paula said! Your body knows what it needs, if it hasn't gotten enough fluids it made you thirsty to get what it needs. Don't deprive yourself of liquids over fear, just keep drinking slowly and pace yourself and you should be fine. I have days when I struggle to get in the right amount of fluids and others where I can't get enough!
Congratulations your are finally on the other side! This is the hardest part after your surgery. At least it was for me. I looked in my journal to remind my self of what I expirienced my first month post op. I had to force my self to sip fo four days. I started to feel really dry on my fith day. it felt as if I couldn't get enough water or liquids. so what I did was chew on ice chips in between my sips of Isopure. I remember even freezing some Isopure with cristal light to kind of help with the dryness. It helped. That is a way of your body letting you know that it is healling. I also remember the hunger pains I had on the sixth day. That was really hard epecially since I couldn't get more than half an oz of liquid in at a time.
As long as you continue to sip on schdule you will be fine. Try freezing Isopure like ice chips, that way you are getting in some protein as well as your liquids. Don't be affraid to take your liquids just try to sip not gozzle your liquids. your body will let you know when it's had enough.
