Hello everyone! Its one week and 2 days since my surgery. I'm having a heck of a time getting in the required fluid (6 8oz a day) and protein (60 grams a day). The protein shakes make me sick to my stomach at first now the smell of them makes me queszy so I'm waiting a few days to try them again. I'm adding benepotein to anything and everthing i eat. Heres a couple of funny stores about my hospital stay...When they were taking me from the OR to recovery I was in and out of it but remember asking the nurses if I looked thinner yet. Then on my first big walk around the nurses station all by myself was a morning to remember...It was 4am 2 days after sugey and I finally woke up from the anesthia. Decided that I was going to pull myself up off of the towel that was on the seatof my recliner chair and WALK. As I got up the back door of my johny was wide open and my two butt cheeks decided to grab that towel between them and take it along for the stroll. I couldn't reach around to get the darn thing and was so determined to walk that I saidwhat the hell and started out that door. My room was right across from the nurses station. As I came hunched over pushing the IV pole in one hand and carrying my unrine bag in the other they all cheered! Then I turned that corner and the laugheter started! hahaha One of them stopped me to help but thats ok I was walking!!! hahaha

Pam-you are so brave to share those stories. How funny!! At least you made yourself walk, be proud women! At least you didn't have toilet paper stuck to your foot too! You really had me picturing you pushing the IV pole, lugging the urine bag with a big drugged smile on your face and your one of a kind "fanny pack".......good to see your posting back! Cheryl

Oh Pam!!! I am so glad to see you back on the boards and that is the funniest story every I am so glad that you were up and walking though!! . You will be thinner before you know it. Don't fret over getting in all the water and protein so soon. It will happen. No one expects you to get in that much in the first couple of weeks. Glad you are back in town!!! Linda

Good to see ya Pam! It sounds like you've got a great attitude and you'll be a loser in no time. ;) I'm sure it helps immensely to keep your spirits up and have humor about the situation. I'm determined to "walk through the pain" myself. I really hope I can do it. I'll keep you in mind when it's time. I'll make sure to check my rear before stepping out. hehe Take care, michelle
