I'm Back and I missed all of you!!!
Hey Gang
Well I am back from my whirlwind trip to New Orleans!. It was an awesome trip and filled with adventures. First I have to say that while I didn't reach my 75lb goal before going I am at it now party:. Whew.......
Where to start??? Well my plane rides on the way there were great. The first plane was kind of empty so I had the row to myself and I got to enjoy the fact that I could use the regular seat belt without the extender and still have belt to spare and that I could put the seat try down with no problem. Was that every nice . I got in late on Saturday night and hung around the baggage claim area until the Men's semi final game was over because someone had a radio that worked. All the bars in the airport were closed so I couldn'****ch. What an ending . On Sunday we went to lunch at Brennan's. I was disappointed in the wait and service and although the food was good it wasn't worth the prices. I ordered a Bloody Mary.......mmm spicey green beans are delicious but I didn't drink much of the actual drink. We hung out and then went to the Women's games on Sunday night. How fun that was. We had all kinds of UCONN chockis on ......press on tatoos, boa's , shirts, socks etc. We saw Robin Roberts in the lobby. On Monday after breakfast in the hotel (free and not great choices for me but I had hard boiled egg and yougurt) we went on a River Boat cruise and then a city tour and then a horse and buggy ride. For those of you who don't know me well you must understand that there was shopping going on between all these ventures. Monday night we went to Pat O'brien's for dinner. That was great fun and very reasonable. I had Gumbo with out the rice and a Chicken Ceasar Salad. Then a whole bunch of people hung out in our hotel lobby and watched the Men's Final with snacks and drinks etc. It was soooo exciting. On Tues we shopped all day in the French Quarter and French Markets, had lunch at Nola's (one of Emeril's) where I had crab cake and grilled shrimps......yummmmmmm. Oh I forgot to tell you that one of the women I was with had her picture taken with Pat Summitt on Monday. She is going to make them into Christmas cards Well after a full day on Tues we got read for the BIG Game. You should have seen our get ups for that!! On the way over to the Arena we met Barbara Turner's mother and had pictures taken with her. We went to the game and stayed to the very end watching all the ceremonies and net cuttings etc. It was so incredible. It is so sad though that that was the end of basketball for month!!!! and that we won't see Diana or Maria or Morgan or Omeka or Ben etc. play for UCONN any more . We went back to the hotel and watched the highlights and then a bunch of folks were walking over to the hotel where the girls were staying but I didn't go. I had to be up at 4:30am to head out to the airport for an early flight. After a few minor mishaps with the travel I made it home safe and sound (they couldn't find my car at the lot where I had parked it ). I found eating during travel on the planes difficult but I tried to make some better choices out of some limited things. All in all though it was a terrific time. I walked and walked and walked so I don't feel too badly about missing the gym (I did workout on Sunday morning some on the treadmill there)
Oh by the way I haven't been able to see my new pic on the message board but I cleared out my cookies etc so maybe it will work now

Linda I missed you!! I was looking for you on TV too! It sounds like you made such great memories. How awesome, it really made me wish I did shove myself in that suitcase of yours!!
If you still can't see that beautiful new smiling face of your**** your refresh button cause we can all see it!
What I found the most difficult traveling and eating was the drinking before, during and after meals. It amazes me how hard that is. I always enjoy a glass of wine before a meal and now I can't in a restaurant because the meal comes too quickly. I found out the hard way one too many times not to do that one!
You were in the middle of history making basketball and don't we all feel like they are each our own daughters. What great CT fans we are!
Good to see you again!
love
Cheryl
Linda- Sounds like you had a great time! You've achieved a wonderful thing- your first big trip post-op! Making good choices under those cir****tances is not easy. But, you did wonderfully!
BTW- your new picture is GREAT!!! I had a hard time w/the older one, since you really look nothing like it any more!
Welcome home...
