Lost in the Traffic!

What a mess we have in Bridgeport. I got on the highway in Stamford around 8:30 last night, to find out about the gas truck explosion. I can't believe that my commute from Stamford to Bridgeport is going to get WORSE than it already is!!! I think Metro North is going to be receiving some money from me until this is over. I get off at Exit 23 or 24, but it's going to be a disaster getting home. Thank God no one was seriously injured, but this is awful!!!

My hubby is a truck driver and he is having a horrible day. It took him 3 hours to get somewhere it normally takes 1! I guess he'll be home late. Christine

I'm almost embarassed to admit how little trouble I've had. I had to drive from Laurel Avenue to the train station to drop my husband off this morning - not even a delay. Then I drove to work in Hartford: again, not even a slowdown at the Sikorsky bridge. If the damned helicopters would go away, things would be great. As it has been, it sounds like the last days of Saigon around here. And the F-18s racing through the sky totally scared the hell out of me last night!

Ha! The last days of Saigon! All night Thursday night I kept waking up to the sounds of helicopters. It was so weird!! I have to admit once I got through Thursday night, I've been okay. I went down to Pennsylvania Friday night (where I ate very badly -- 5 year old's birthday party. I'm ashamed!!) and coming back yesterday, we got off at exit 22 as soon as the traffic started to back up & had no trouble. I'm in Black Rock so not as close, but my boyfriend is off of North St., & he's having a heck of a time just getting to the highway. It takes him about 1/2 hr. to make the journey to exit 24.
