CIGNA POS first rejection letter

Applied last Friday, received my first rejection letter today. Took only 6 days to tell me no. Is anyone else considering surgury at MidState Medical Center? They are doiing the first one April 1st. Dr. Ben Braheiem. (spelling?)

Hi, My surgery will be at Norwalk Hospital on April 27, but I want to let you know that I was denied after my first attempt at coverage, but it was through Aetna. I DID an appeal, after doing doctor visits for supervised, documented weight loss programs for the 6 months that they required and then the surgeon's office sent an appeal letter with all the new documentation. After 28 grueling days, I got a YES. I truly understand the disappointment of being denied after the first try. Looks like you'll need to contact the insurance company and your doctor's office to see if there are some actions you can take to make an appeal. I wish you the very best of luck. Sincerely, Linda

I was just rejected by Cigna. I was devistated, though my doctor had warned me what Cigna was tough. It was kinda like a slap in the face. I was totally excited about surgery and so ready for it, then you are faced with this set-back I have the option of changing insurences, so I won't be appealing. I would, however love to give them a piece of my mind. Anyways... I hope your appeal goes thru. Best of luck!
