WLS Ins. Approval - Anthem State of CT Employee Plan - Question

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has gone through the insurance approval process that has Anthem - thru the State of CT employee plan.  Just wondering how difficult the process was and how long the approval took.  I've already talked to them about requirements and I do meet all of them, and there is no 6 month guided nutrition requirement.  Thanks.

Thanks for replying so quickly - that really does make me feel so much better.  I've never had a problem with them thus far so I am really counting on them to put thru for me!  Congratulations on your recent surgery - how was the recovery?

I work for the state also and I have Anthem. Dr. Aranow says I have the best plan and I will have no trouble getting 100% approval. I am in the process of getting all the tests done so his office can submit to Anthem for approval. The approval is good for 6 months to a year, so since I am not planning on surgery until March-I work for the DOT and winter is our busy time, I want to have everything done before Christmas. That way I'll have my approval and all that has to be done is to schedule the surgery. P.S. What do you think of CORE?, lol

Kimmi - I'm having RNY.  What psych hosp. do you work at?  I have a fam. member who works at one too.   My husband works for the Department of Correction as a Correction Officer. My paperwork is being submitted to the ins. co sometime the end of this week - just wonder how long it will take to approve it - some people (different insurance) say it takes up to a month!  WOW. What is CORE?
