At what point do Dr.Bell's patients go for the endoscopy? I have my group meeting in June so I figure it will be after that. Do I need someone to drive me there & home or can I drive after the endoscopy? How is the scope? Thanks, Chryssie

Chryssie, Dr. Bell doesn't usually require an endoscopy unless there is some previous history of problems that would warrant a scope. I did have to have some cardiac tests but he usually just requires a cardiac clearance for us "older" patients. You probably won't have to have that clearance. Every doctor has different requirements. Dr. Bell doesn't have you on a any special diet before the surgery either. Hope this helps Linda

Hi Chryssie, Linda is correct - Dr. Bell does NOT routinely require an endoscopy. However, if he feels you do need one for your medical conditions - you should prepare to have someone there to drive you home - they do put you out. I found it to be a very simple procedure (I had one a while ago because of GERD - unrelated to the RNY). Hope this helps. God Bless, Kathy Bilodeau
