Hi All! I am newer to the message boards but wanted to pass along a tough lesson learned about my surgery (3/3/04). I was on Paxil before surgery for depression but someone goofed and I was cut off cold turkey after surgery. The Xanax in the IV worked for a couple days but the discontinuation of Paxil, post-op depression, post-op diarrhea I thought was abnormal (it isn't), and developing an allergic reaction to Reglan (which they were pumping me full of) made for a hellish 48 hours. In short, make sure that whatever meds you were on pre-surgery you get post-surgery. It can save a lot of grief. becky post-op 15 days, 15 lbs, now 315

I too take Paxil & I've learned the hard way how miserable you can be when you cut off Paxil abruptly. I'm glad you're back home, back on schedule & you're a loser now!!! Best regards, Kathy F.

An excellent point. Sorry you had to go through that, but thanks for pointing it out, so that it can help others. Good luck to you in the beginning or your new life! Lisa C
