If you take iron, what type do you take and how much? I am going to get a presciption but I am hoping my PCP picks an appropriate one for us post-ops. Hope to see many of you on Saturday.
Hi Heather. I take a liquid sublingual B12 complex, iron supplement one time a week. per my Dr's orders. If I'm feeling run down, I take it a few times a week. I get it at Walmart, CVS or Walgreens. It's the only liquid iron supplement they sell. The pharmacist can usually point it out to you. I can't remembr the name brand, but I'm thinking it's Spring something. I'll try to remember to look and tell you on Sat.
It's not that expensive (less than $10) and it lasts a while, since you only take 1 dropper full every week.
I notice a difference when I don't take it.
See you soon.

My surgeon recommends that we take iron supplements regularly. I take Carbonyl Iron. Its very easy on the stomach and doesn't tend to cause the stomach upset and constipation problems that other types of iron are famous for causing. I used to be able to find the Sundown (or Rexall) brand of Carbonyl Iron at any drug store or WalMart... but they have stopped making it in that brand. I have found an online source to get this iron at a very reasonable price. If you are interested in the website address... feel free to email me.
