Just wondering if any post-ops have tattoos and what happened to them after surgery? I have a few that I'm worried will become very distorted after surgery(it's a fact I'll deal with of course 'cause being healthy is much more important than a pretty tattoo!!) Thanks, Christine Bye the way- Thanks to everyone for the great advice, I lost 3.8 pounds this week! 2 more to go for my 10 pound pre-surgery goal!!!

Hi, Christine! Y'know, that was one of the first non-medical questions I started asking people! I have three (on my ankles). Obviously, that not a place that would lose a lot of weight and sag anyway, but they are fine. I have talked to people who have them on more "sag-prone" areas: like arms, belly or breast. The concensus seemed to be that no one noticed any changes. There IS a tattoo messageboard on this website, so you might have luck there, too. But you could always go back to your favorite tat artist and see what his/her opinion is. I have been discussing with my husband what I should do when I reach that 100-pound milestone, and we (okay, I) decided that my "reward" would be a new tat. I went to my tat guy to discuss it with him, telling him about my surgery. Now this guy, who is a real sweetie, has tats EVERYWHERE, including on his face and scalp. He looks at me and says (re: the surgery) "Aw, why would you want to go do that to yourself?" I could barely keep a straight face!
