"high" protein
Hi Carol,
Personally I use either the Propelet Gold powders from Bariatriceating.com or the Atkins Advantage Cafe au Lait flavor. They both have about 20 grams of protein per drink. I mix the powders with water not milk. I find that the 20 grams if enough to supplement what ever food I am eating to reach my protein goals. I stopped the ensure and boost immediately after the 2 weeks of liquids. I figured there was too much sugar in them for my tastes. I have read that more than 35 grams of protein at one time is a waste, in other words our bodies can only absorb so much at a time. I started having the drinks once a day and continued that for about a month and then found I was getting enough protein in most days without it. I have just started drinking them again but more because I need a snack after working out in the mornings (I have breakfast before I go) to tide me over until lunch. I have chosen to use the cafe au lait as a snack (kind of makes me think I am having my morning coffee...) Hope this helps. I would suggest ordering some samples of different protein powders before ordering anything in quantities. I have found that Susan Maria's products on bariatriceating.com are great and she always includes a coupe of extra samples. That's my opinion
