About to Scream!
Gee, I've been waiting for an answer to me appeal letter to Aetna since it was mailed on February 3. They said they received it February 10 and they have 30 days from then to make a decision. I cannot remember a more stressful time. I've been calling Aetna every other day, as well as having one of our Human Resources people at work call and try to get some answers. I do have scheduled date of April 27 for surgery, which the surgeon provides when we initially send out the appeal letter.
When I first applied for the surgery in October of 2003, I got the "denial" letter within a week. I just don't know why this is taking so long and I'm so afraid they'll say no again. I have to have this surgery. My health is just going downhill daily and I'm so depressed. I read so many of the insurance sites, and almost all of them say approved, approved, approved after 1 day, 1 week, no problem at all. Maybe I'm not supposed to have this, but I get so upset when I'm in such bad shape and get denied, and lots of others get satisfaction right away.
Thanks for hearing me - I'm just so edgy.
