Rollercoaster!!
Man.. talk about riding a rollercoaster.. and I haven't even had the surgery yet. I've been really, really patient.. and for me.. that's saying a lot b/c I get really excited and anxious about upcoming things.. and lately, especially this surgery.
I was surprised that my psych eval and nutrition eval were done so quickly. I never expected a problem from my PCP though. I still don't have a letter from her. She's awesome.. and I know she's really busy.. but I asked this of her over a month ago. I haven't been pushy with her.. I sent her 2 letters over the course of a month letting her know of my intentions and my progress so far.. even reminded her I'd be seeing her on the 3rd of March... and I went hoping, with fingers crossed that she'd have my letter.. to only be disappointed by her opening my chart and giving me that "oh crap" look.. like she forgot.
So.. to make a long story short.. she "promised" she would work on it that day.. which means I don't know when I'll get it. I'm sure all of you had to go through a course of b.s. to get to the prize. So please forgive me for ranting. I'm being as patient as I can be.. but I'm really getting sick of being fat and in pain every single day. Thanks for listening. Take care.
Michelle
It's such a pain getting all of your ducks in a row for the surgery!
Forget about being patient -- call the office every day until you have confirmation that the letter's been sent out! You can be nice as pie to everyone you talk to, but the continuous reminders will eventually get them to do it -- I had to do this with one dr.'s office.
Good luck to you!
Kathy
I know how you feel, I went thru this trying to get my PCP to write a letter. After countless calls to her office I finally went online and found her email address, shes affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital and she responded back within hours and I had my letter faxed to my surgeon the same day. Keep pushing and best of luck
