BCBS Question, what do you think?

I have a question, if Blue Cross Blue Shield isn't going to cover WLS surgery after the end of the year. Does that mean people who had the surgery and need follow up work or surgery done in the future will be refused coverage if they have BCBS? What's next? It's all a money game if you ask me, the insurance companies don't want to shell out money to help people *****ally need the surgery and are making excuses not to cover the surgery. What do you think? Darlene

I thought it was just BC/BS of Florida that was going to no longer cover WLS. I have BC/BS of CT and as far as I know they will still cover it. Chryssie

bc/bs does not cover it in ohio as of last year under no conditions. I think that is the pits

I'm not sure but if you've had the surgery at a time when they do approve the surgery then need something follow up I belive that would "grandfather" the follow up. My BC/BS just approved me in one day with no fuss. It was a relief and a surprise.
