Help Wanted!!!

Thanks for your replies!!! I'm new in this country and it has been great to find that other people take care!!! Where I'm able to find information regarding the pros and cons of the LAP Bypass vs. Band? I was approved for the Laparascopic Bypass but I meet a woman that had the band and she told me that she did the band because she was scare of the bypass and the band was better. Now again, I'm confuse. Does it is normal? Please share with me your experiences and or any information that you may have. thanks!!!

Hi John, Everyone will have a different opinion on which procedure is better. I am very pleased with the Lap RNY procedure I had with Dr. Bell. Others are very pleased with the Lap Band procedure. However, if your insurance company has already approved you for Lap RNY - you might want to go forward in that direction. Some companies (like Aetna) will not approve Lap Band. Also, you will need to utilize a surgeon who your insurance company approves of. Some surgeons only specialize in one procedure - so that might be the deciding factor for you. Hope this helps some.
