I just got back from my nutrition consult at Yale-New Haven with this lovely little lady! I think she was surprised at how much I already knew about the surgery. I was expecting to wait around 2 weeks for her to send over the consult to Dr. Bell.. from what I've read here, I thought that was standard time.. but she said 24 hours!!! Whoah! Psych and nutrition eval down.. just waiting on my PCP to finish her letter. She's assured me that she's working diligently to get it done, but had some emergency issues come up. Understandable. I really, really hope it's less than 2 months before surgery! I can only keep my fingers crossed. How long did it take to meet Dr. Bell after all the evaluations were in to him?? Finally.. I'm going to be at the March 2nd support group meeting. Is anyone else going?? Just thought I'd share my day. I'm pretty excited about it.

Hey Michelle, That's great that your consults are in. Bug your PCP though to get that letter written. They won't schedule you for the group session until everything is in to Dr. Bell's office. I will be at the meeting on March 2nd as will many others....... We always have a full house. I look foward to seeing you there. If you have any questions just let me know. Linda

Hi Michelle, Like Linda said - bug the PCP. No one will even look at your chart until the PCP's report is in. And once it is in, you will hear soon about a group consult. Probably 2 mos. after that will be the surgery - you are well on your way. I'll be at the support group meeting as well -- so please make sure to introduce yourself!
