An update

.... I finally have an update. Just thought I would share..... 02/18/04 10:15am Well, long time no update. I apologize for neglecting my page, I was without the internet for sometime. I am back and with lots to tell you. I had my surgery consultation with Dr Aranow on January 13th. I didn't have tons of questions for him because I had most of them answered at his informational seminar and on obesityhelp.com. I was weighed in his office and found out that I gained some weight on all those steroids they had me on and I was up to 376. It was a big reality check that things have got to change. So far as of today I've been to my Pulmonary Dr. Went for sleep study. Had the Gallbladder ultrasound and Barium swallow :bark: this morning and I have my appoints set up with the psychiatrist and dietitian in the next few weeks. I also am going to the support groups on the 23rd and March 1st. Test results came back from the sleep study and I don't have sleep apnea but I experience desaturation in my sleep. My oxygen level went down to 73% so I have to go back and stay at the hospital again on 3/3 to use a BiPap machine and see if they have to add oxygen to it. By the way when I left the sleep study I said I would never do that again and now I have to...Yikes They did find a Gallstone today but my stomach looked great. No ulcers or hernias. I have a nice looking tummy (inside at least). Thank god for small favors. So if everything goes as planned I will have all my appointments finished by March 12th. So I figure I will most likely have to wait at least a couple weeks for the psychologist to get her results in order and If she decides I'm not a quack I will know if I'm approved by mid April. I am doing the happy dance. You just can't see I can't wait to start my new life. I am in pain everyday with my back. I also have been dealing with some negative feedback. Some from a couple people at work so I stopped discussing it. I have one special friend there (H) His dad had it and he understands what I'm going through. But anyway. I plan on just waiting till all is completed and if approved (I am praying everyday) I will just give them the surgery date and take a day or two off before to have some get ready time. Looks like you and I went to see Dr. Aranow on the same day. I also have appointments over the next several weeks. He seems like a great doctor. Has your regular doctor received his paper work yet? I am still waiting. So I can't make that appointment yet, which is aggrievating me a little. I guess it takes patience!

Hi Christine... My Dr. just received all the paperwork from Dr. Aranow but I already had all my appointments lined up. My only issue is my Dr wont give me clearance until I have a surgery date and I don't think I can get a surgery date without clearance. So I will deal with that when I see him on the 27th.
