can you drink alcohol while banded ??

Can you drink Alcohol????? Well my question is that and if so,,,, how do you feel ????  does it take very little to get you tipsy or can you not drink at all ? JUST CURIOUS

Hi - Alcohol after band impacts you the exact same way it does before band (that's how it was for me anyway) - you don't get the "cheap" date impact the bypass patients do! You do need to stay away from drinks with bubbles - those are supposed to be a no-no because of the ability to stretch the above band "pouch"
Also - you should wait to get a go ahead from Dr. B before you party because there is generally a period of healing where alcohol is not recommended - I don't know how long of a wait is recommended...........

Yes, you can drink no problem but no beer due to the carbonation. I do find that it takes less to feel the effects since getting the band.

It goes down just fine! Though with the calories you should watch how many you have and beware those high calorie ****tails. I like to have a Twisted Tea light, or a Sam's light a few times a week but not as much as I used to and I don't think the band effected me at all with the amount I could drink, I believe Gastric bypass people only have that effect.
