Pain Med Question

I know everyone has a different level of pain tolerance, but I figured I'd throw this question out anyway. I was discharged from the hospital on Friday and given a pain med prescription (1-2 pills every 3-4 hours as needed). I've been taking 1 pill every 4 hours since I got home. My incision feels fine. I am experiencing pain in my lower left belly (some times more noticable than at other times.) Can you give me an idea how long you had pain and how long you took pain meds? I am just curious to know if I can expect this to end before my first 2 week post-op Dr visit or not. Thanks everyone! Lyn

Hi Lyn I came home from the hospital on a Thursday and stopped taking my pain meds on Saturday. I felt fine without it. I was a bit sore but nothing that I couldn't handle. I just prefer not to be taking meds I don't really need plus the morphine was making me constipated. I'm sure everyone's situation is different and you need to listen to your own body. Best of luck. Lyn For sure everyone is different. I am a huge baby. I took my pain meds for a few weeks. I think it also depends if you had lap or open. Cheryl
