Just starting my journey
Hello everyone.
This is my first time to the site and I am feeling very good at all the support you all seem to give each other.
I had my first apointment on Jan.13, so I am not expecting surgery until late March or even April. They tell me it really takes a while. I am looking forward to being able to play with my kids in the back yard. They are my motivation for everything. Some days I don't even want to leave the house because I feel so huge, but I got myself back on Weigh****chers and have lost 8.8lbs so far. The doctor suggested I lose weight before surgery because it will be safer.
I wish you all the best.
Welcome! And congrats on your loss with WW. That's great. I am a post op pateint of Dr. Aranow & I can tell you that you are in THE GREATEST hands possible. I wish you good luck in your journey and look forward to seeing your posts more.
Let us know if you need anything at all.
Best,
Lisa C

Welcome to the journey, Christine!
I know it seems like it will take a long time for your surgery date to come but, trust me, the time goes like THAT ! I had my first appointment in the beginning of September and planned to have the surgery the first week in December which was the first week I could get off from work. It seemed those three months took forever, then I turned around and it was December!
Christine,
It's so true what Bette said. When I started my journey I thought my day would never come, the day I was approved and they gave me my surgery date and it was 3 weeks away, I thought it would drag. Well, it zoomed by and all of a sudden I was rushing around.
This is a good time to email lots and lots of members to ask all the questions that are stuck in your mind. Take what you need and leave the rest. A word of caution: people have strong opinions towards this surgery and will have no quams about telling you your odds of survival so on and so forth. Use this time to educate yourself so you know exactly what is ahead. Find out how many surgeries your surgeon has performed. Does your hospital of choice have bariatric beds! There's lots to keep you busy. And use our CT Message Board!! The BEST in OH Country!!
Best wishes
Cheryl
Christine,
First of all welcome! Second of all good for you getting back to Weigh****chers. Anything you can do to raise your spirits and lose some weight is great. Don't let your self get caught up in the self pity and hibernate. That isn't going to help anything. Get involved in things and begin to do things that make you feel good. You will want other things to take up your time instead of food. Now is a great time to start. This board is fun and supportive and can be time consuming.......Pull up a chair.........
