on my way

Well, I had my first three appointments on the road to WLS....first, Dr. Aranow....seems like a great guy, and he gave me lots of confidence....second, Dr. Greif, for a sleep study. He's a pulmonologist, and like, wow did he schedule a bunch more stuff than a sleep study. Is this normal? And, Friday I had my psych eval. I was kind of nervous about that, but it was smooth sailing. Dr. Aranow didn't require that I see a cardiologist, but my PCP wouldn't give her approval w/o a cardiology check up. That's fine, but she insists that I see one in Middletown, and I live in Uncasville. And the cardiology appt is at 8 am Anyway, I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with all the appts., along with the kids, etc. Anyone else have this problem? I'm starting to feel like the surgery is the easy part Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I'm getting a headache just thinking about it . Terrie

Teresa, Congratulations! You really ARE on your way!! I remember this being the toughest part also. But if you want your approval to go through quickly keep ALL your appts and make sure you document what you've completed. Now would be a good time to also start sending any docs you've been to in the past that you've seen for weight loss. Failures and acheivements! If it was for high blood pressure or even just aching knees. (on mine it showed I was always getting sick with bronchial infections) Anyway, what I did was to fax a request form I made up to the docs office and had them send it to my house. That way, once I finished all my testing I had a binder filled with all of them and brought that to the docs office so the person could submit everything for my approval right away. They all SAY they will handle this, but I am a firm believer of taking control of my destiny. If I have the papers in MY hand then I know what's getting submitted. I used the docs I got fen fen from, the ones I got adipex you name it. When I went for my initial appt and signed all the releases, I realized I was so nervous or psyched I couldn't even remember all the docs I had seen for my weight. Be proud of yourself that you are juggling all these things for YOU!! And you are worth it!! Just a little tid bit! hugz C

Hi Terrie, I am going with Doctor Bell for surgery, but I also went to Middletown (Middlesex Cardiology group) for my echo. The reason I went there was because they could get me in immediately.I wasn't sorry in the least. They also are able to get the report to your doc that evening as they use a "paperless system".I am in Quaker Hill (formerly Uncasville), and the ride and directions were perfect and easy.
