Hello Folks, Thought I would take a moment to ramble and update you on a few things. First of all I am very upset at the moment . Just finished watching the Women Huskies lose to Notre Dame. Watcha gonna do?? While I was writing this I got a call from Mary Lou's other sister. I guess they took her into surgery again today. They finally figured out was was wrong. Seems she was leaking from the gall bladder site. They weren't able to put a stent in as they hoped but Dr. Bell feels that she will do fine. He told me that this morning when I saw him. He says it will be a very long recovery but he is confident it will be a complete recovery. Thank Goodness. Hopefully things are on the upswing now. Her family really appreciates all your concern and prayers. Lets keep it up guys!!! I had my two month check up today. I have lost 39 pounds by Dr. Bell's reckoning but 43 by mine. I finally realized that his starting weight was different from mine..... I measured the other day and have lost 27 inches give or take depending on how swollen my ankles are.. I am eating on the average 740 calories a day. Seems that I do well in the 600 range for a few days and then I have a day where I am really hungry and feel like I have eaten all day long (900 calories) and then go back to the 600's for a few days. I have over 60 grams of protein a day and over 80oz of fluids usually. I am an exercising fanatic now...:dance. Seems I have more energy than I know what to do with. I go to the gym at 6:30am Monday thru Friday and then on Tues and Thurs evenings I go back for Water Aerobics. On Sat and Sunday I still do the Walk Away the Pounds tapes......I can't not do something.... I have had no problems at all with any of the food that I have tried. I still haven't tried much beef but I do well with beef jerky. I also want to try some Chinese as that has always been my favorite food. I am thinking maybe Shrimp with Cashew Nuts or Egg Foo Young since they are close to what I am eating already. The best thing about all this is that I just feel great! I still have some aches and pains especially in my right hip and my knees at times but compared to how I felt 2 months ago.....WOW. I am off all my meds execpt for a water pill (other than my vitamins etc.) I just realized there is another best thing about this surgery. And that is all of you. I have had the honor of meeting and becoming friends with some very incredible folks. Thank you all for that. Linda

Linda, it's great that you are doing sooooo well! Keep up the good work! I to can relate to having so much energy! I use to take a nap in the afternoon and then be in bed for 8:30, now no nap and I usually go to bed after a very full day at 10:00 and sleep like the dead and wake up feeling great! It's been along time since that has happened! I will keep Mary Lou in my prayers! These complications can happen to any and all of us. Keep us posted on her progress!!! Cathy Marques

Linda! You also need to update your picture here now!! Send it to Leilani Gibb and she'll get it on here quick. Big congrats on the weight loss. I was in mourning too that nigh****ching our girls and Geno make a fool of himself. They let that game go, they leaned too much on Diana I think. But the guys are on fire and fun to watch too! Can you tell we are big UCONN fans in my family? I work at UCONN Health Center, my daughter goes there, and my husband graduated from there!! I wish I could relate to your energy level. Mines seems to have dipped. I still need a sleeping pill to sleep through the night or else suffer insomnia. At 9 months I hoped for more in the energy area. But I am happy! I am at 180 and really love shopping. The hardest if finding pants to fit at both the waist and legs. Hiiting the big Lord and Taylor sale tomorrow! I am so glad to hear our Mary Lou is on the mend. See? All our prayers worked. Guess I've rambled enough here! chillyhugs to all! love Cheryl
