Hi my name is Brenda, I am getting ready to go to the first meeting before I meet Dr. Aranow, and am a little scared. I have done my research and found out that Medicare and Medicaid will pay for the surgery only if it is a medical necessity... Well I went to my pcp and talked with her and she said that is was a good idea to go ahead and get it done... So she is writing the medical necessity letter so I can have it for the insurance companies... I live in Jewett City, Ct., I am willing to give my email and home number out to anyone who wants to be my angel. I will have to have the surgery done in Middletown, CT..

Hi Brenda, I live right in Taftville, which is right down the road. I would love to help you with any questions or concerns you may have. I had my surgery on Dec. 1st by Dr. Aranow. This message board is a wonderful place to get information and to share thoughts and fears. Please feel free to contact me through e-mail [email protected] I look forward to chatting with you. There is also a support group which meets at Backus Hospital. The next meeting is at the end of the month. I believe the 28th at 4pm. I'll confirm that when we talk.
