HI.....I had my surgery on 12/16 and it was the same thing for me. I was even emotional after I came home. It did get better as the days went on. Dr. Aranow is a GREAT doctor you'll be in good hands with him. I have several personal friends and family including myself that went thru the sugery this year with him and all had great results. Good Luck and God Bless.
Hi Elaine:
If it helps at all I had my surgery on Dec. 1st at Middlesex. Everyone their was absolutely fabulous. Every nurse on every shift was outstanding. My surgery went extremely well and my recovery has been even better. I stopped all pain meds the day after I came home and was out Christmas shopping and walking more than the past 2 years. My incision healed very well and was sleeping on my stomach in less than 3 weeks. I would never have hesitated for so long if I had known what a breeze it would be. I have averaged almost a pound a day since the surgery. I made it through the liquid stage and now the soft mushy stuff (I'm eating alot of scrambled eggs and salmon) The thought of pureeing things really turned me off. I haven't had one episode of being sick yet.
I'm sure your journey will be just as positive.
Good luck
Carolyn

Hello Elaine. It's a very emotional thing to make such a big change in your life....I was crying too just before I went in, but most of it was of relief, relief from not having to be so big and having all the problems that I had. I'm happy to say that I'm allmost 3 month out now and have lost 70 pound....and I have had no complications!! And who was the surgeon you might wanna know: Dr Aranow - the same as yours. My thoughts will be with you all day Monday and I'm sure you will do just fine
Hugs from Tove
