CPAP Question
Hello everyone,
Its been a while since Ive posted I have now completed all the information my insurance wanted. Now Im just waiting for the different Dr's to send letters to Dr Roye and wait for a approval. I was told I have severe sleep apnea and now I have my lovely CPAP machine. My air level is set at 13. The problem is I have severe gas all night long. My poor husband at least I have the CPAP mask. I don't feel like Im getting air to sleep I feel like Im blowing up to be a hot air balloon. Has anyone else had this problem?
Kim
Hi Kim,
I have had my machine for over a week now, and I was having the same problem last week. I was gulping in air, I was not just breathing it but literally swallowing it like I would soda or juice. I don't know how I finally got over doing that, but I have not had those same problems this week. But I did not have my gas at nite, I was expelling it all day long at work or at home the following day, quite unpleasant. I had my problem also because I was a mouth & nose breather alternating both during the nite, I still am but for some reason I am less apt to swallow air once I relaxed and let the machine work without me trying to work it.
Also the advice some of the ladies here gave me call your doctor to make sure that there is not something going on that can be altered.
Lynn
Hi Lynn,
I am a mouth breather also so I wear a chin strap at night with my machine. I just talked to my doctor office and they had me lower the air down to 11 untill I get use to it. I so hope it works because Im so tired all day, and I was having reflex really bad again. Your right it was liking swallowing soda and with the reflex I kept acid taste. owell I will try again thank you so much for confirming Im not going crazy.
