I am home and well too!!!
Hi everyone...wanted to thank a lot of you for your well wishes. I had my surgery on Thursday, Dec 4th...and got to come home this afternoon. I have to admit... I am feeling a TON better than I thought I was going to ...and i was able to walk *VERY SLOWLY* up my stairs to our upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms...so I am very pleased. Looking forward to settling in...and just getting used to my new stomach. It was odd today and yesterday when I started to drink water and crystal light. And today I took a few teaspoons of sugar free jello, after the nurse assured me that it was sugar free...
Looking forward to just moving forward on the losing side!!!
Welcome Home!
I certainly know how you feel. Nothing like sleeping in your own bed - although I spent the first night on the couch's recliner -- sleeping flat hurt my belly. The next night I propped up pillows, and added one on my side, and was able to sleep wonderfully - on my side!
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
God Bless,
Kathy Bilodeau
I liked Lisa's answer "walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip" and maybe .....and a couple of fa- la-laa...because there IS no place like home. I was released yesterday and, as uncomfortable as I was, it was much nicer in my own bed. This is all new to me. I started the journey this past January and when it was time for the actual surgery date......I was SO surprised that at work, when the co-ordinator called me, I kept saying "OK, Holy Sh**, OK, Holy Sh**. Nice, Debbie. I will be thinking of you because misery loves company. But actually, I feel pretty darned good. The only part the doctor left out was that I would have some pain in one particular area. If I had expected it, I wouldn't have been so worried that something had gone wrong. Call your doctor for ANY reason so they can explain and reassure you. Take good care of yoursel. Debbie
