WOW moments & my scope..
Hello Everyone,
Well I had my scope done on my pouch Friday. The procedure was quick! About 1/2 hour. I was in at 7:30 home by 10:00. :-) No pain except for the anesthesia made me tired & very loopy along with a little bit of a scratchy/irratated sore throat.
I'm thankful to say that my pouch is FINE.. nothing wrong with it. It's about 2 1/2 ounces big... Couldn't believe that one after over 2 years with the surgery. Dr. B is very happy with how things look. He may have an intestine series done just to make sure nothing is wrong in that area.
I only threw up once last week due to my bad self... trying pork.. I should just give up it's more of an aggrivation than anything.. just can't tolerate it.
Now my WOW moment... for those of you just out of lap or by-pass and starting your journey the WOW moments will always come as a blessing & nice surprise when you least expect them.
I made an appt with the personal trainer at my gym. She mentioned to me that since starting February 07 she has watched me change physically and stated I was a very "BUFF" babe... tee hee...
I haven't lost/gained weight in over a year.. but my body definately looks different... more tone & healthy.
She changed up my routine to include some pretty hard cardio... She had me work on "sprints" in short intervals and then run backwards...All I kept saying was WOW... she thought I was tired & told me to take a break... I let her know that I was having a WOW moment and that 2 years ago or even last year I NEVER would have thought I'd be tone... running... doing a stair climber... push ups or anything else super physical..
I never ever regret having this surgery even with the minor set backs of throwing up.. it was the BEST thing I ever did for myself...I went this morning to the gym to work out... and I can look in a full length mirror and see a strong, healthy woman looking back at me... WOW!!
41 years old & I'm in the BEST shape of my life.. ever... WOW!
PS... I'm starting to get a "4-pack" of abs... LOL... working on the 6-pack... (budweiser does not have me beat!) LOL
Take care,
Mickey
Mickey,
My hat's off to you......
I am so happy to hear how well things are going for you. You toned babe you....I have been thinking about getting a personal trainer myself...just finding it hard to budget for one......But I will look at my budget and see what can be done....I want to be a buff and toned babe just like you!!!!
Congratulations on your success!
Dorota
Hi Mickey,
Where do you go to work out? I'd love to get me a personal trainer so that I can be accountable to someone. I'm just not good at doing it by myself.
Congrats to you! Despite the vomitting once in a while (I do it and hubby still does, too).
Pork is NOT our friend since surgery, either! Too dry, or something. Even if it seems moist, comes up for Bob and just sits there stuck, for me.
I find that if I have something too sugary and fatty at the same time, I'll vomit. (Dumping, I guess)..also, if I have a lot of post nasal drip coming down, I'll vomit, too. I'm two years out this week.
Keep up the great work!
Paula

I unfortunately don't know how to get my picture onto the web site & if it can be down loaded from a disk? Any techies out there that can help me?? :-)
Paula, I work out at Body Fit in Manchester. It isn't a high end gym like Bally's or anything but everyone is really nice and helpful.. The regulars that work out there are personal trainers for the most part so they are extremely encouraging.. One gal has an AMAZING set of abs that I'd like to steal from her.. she just laughs at me.. but she's a positive role model.
The teenagers tend to come out after school/work & treat it like a social club.. that gets a little annoying but the management makes sure it doesn't get disruptive for those of us looking to use machines etc..
Well Dr. B gave me a picture of the inside of my pouch... I guess I can frame it.. EWWWW... it's kind of neat to see the mechanics of it from the inside..my son thought it was cool.. typical boy
I've decided to give up on pork (bacon works fine) it's just not worth the aggrivation after 2 years and will make it for the guys in the house when they want it.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments and encouragement... I never want to take the WOW's for granted..
Hugs gang,
Mickey
