Something I found in Stop and Shop

Hello everyone , Last week while shopping I found a low carb milk(dairy beverage)in the dairy case, Carb Countdown Dairy beverage made by Hood. Now I recognize you are not necessarily low carbers, but what I found interesting about this product was that it was higher in protein 12g per 8 oz. cup and calcium 35% compared to regular milk (if anyone still drinks it) . I am pre-op so my tastes are so very different from those of you who are post op, but I thought I would mention it to you, there were 4 varieties of this milk: chocolate 2%, whole, 2%, and fat free. Those of you who have tried to low carb before know that nothing low carb is cheap and this milk goes for about 3.50 for a half a gallon. I have tasted the fat free and the chocolate and they taste like milk to me, again I am pre-op so it might not work for some of you, but you can always let your family use it if you don't care for it since its taste was like regular milk. Thanks a lot Lynn, I'm going to try that right away.........I been drinking the "Simply Smart" but that's quit high in carbs. As an old milk-addict I look forward to try the new one. I will let you know. Hugs from Tove

it is really really good the fat free and the chocolate are great. The chocolate is low in sugar also. Nice little snack.

Just as an FYI- take and do with it what you will- I bought this and found that it's kind of slimy tasting. The chocolate is WAY too chocolate for me (and I LOVE chocolate!). BUT- I add it to regular milk and it's great! Weird- I know, but it works for me. Heated up it makes a mean hot cocoa.
