worried for one of our own
I am worrying today for one of the people in our support group. She was real nice Monday and asked me to stop by since I work at the hosp. to see her. So I waited a day since I wanted to be sure she wouldn't be too groggy. I found out she's in ICU. I have no idea why, of course they won't tell me a thing, but I asked the secretary to pass a message that all her UConn support group members were pulling for her.
It just brings home again to me what serious surgery this is, not to be taken lightly. I told you all about the speaker we had the other night, drinking cola and stuff. Well, I emailed our doc and told him I didn't think it was appropiate of her to do that and suggest we could all eat cake and candy when we are 5 years post op. He is on vacation, but I know he'll see it when he gets back. Because I also emailed him about getting these bariatric beds for the hosp. we are lobbying for!
So please remember "Krista" tonight in your thoughts and send good vibes her way.

Dear Cheryl. I'm sorry to hear about your friend and I will sure pray for her. I was also in ICU the first 24 hours but it was for safety reasons not because something was wrong. It had to do with different lung problems that I have (in which has improved very, very much), I hope your friend is there for safety reasons as well. If you want to talk about it, feel free to e-mail me, I will check in before bedtime.
I wasn't at your support meeting but I know for sure that my surgeon wouldn't have accepted that and I don't think yours will either. Good for you that you stand up for what you belive in.
Hugs from Tove
