Pregnancy after surgery

Hello All, I will be having my surgery on the 27th and am very concerned about having a baby afterwards.  If any of you have had children post op, can you share your experience with me?  What extra complications may there be due to surgery?  How does the baby get enough nutrients if we are eating so little?  I thank you in advance for your posts.

I am currently PG and all I am doing extra is taking iron and a prenatal.  What is important is that you wait the year post-op to start trying.  Waiting allows your body to level off the weight loss and you start to maintain.  Be careful post op because it is much easier to get pg when the weight is coming off.  DH and I tried for 5 years pre-op and nothing.   We weren't really tring post-op and it just happened.  Good luck with everything.   If you have any other questions, please don't be afraid to ask!

I have the band so they just unfilled me and told me to just eat healthy during the pregnancy - after the baby is born I'll just go and have it filled up again.   There is a pregnancy board forum here on this site, it would probably be time well spent for you to go check it out - there are many healthy babies being born with post-op people Chistina gave great advice as well! Good luck!
