i use fit day to figure out how i'm doing for the day. i get in about 80 grams of protein in but, around 1200 cal. for the day is that bad it is hard for me to figure out. beth

No, I don't think that's bad. It could be lower, but how do you feel? how much are you exercising? what are the calories coming from (i.e. how much is carbs) Are you still losing and are you happy with your rate of loss? These factors all matter and make a difference when you decide what to put in your mouth on a given day. If you can or want to answer these questions, perhaps we can all be more helpful to you.

no, i am not happy with my weight loss it seems too slow. i do get in some kind of exercise everyday either walking, gym, weights, stretches and aerobics, or lifting. mostly walking probably not enough but, i am trying to improve on that. i am trying to cut the carbs but, everything just about has carbs and i can't figure out what is concidered low carbs. i do feel better but, then i think i could be better. i am at 262 and by the 21st of nov. i have to be below 240 for my 6 month check up i don't know how to make it other than starving but i don't think that works with the whole protein thing. i have been chosing better i think but, i am never quite sure i always doubt myself. beth

Beth, When I read what you have written on your profile... ("i am starting to graze a lot. i do almost all of my eating at night. i am not hungry until at least 2 in the afternoon")... I feel like I could have written that. I had my surgery just one day before you and I've recently found that I want to graze a lot now. I have let some carbs creep back into my diet and I honestly feel that this is bringing on cravings and causing me to graze. Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone in this. Lets hope its just a phase that we will get through.

you know i never thought about the carbs before but, you're right it has been since i have been eating more carbs that i graze more and want things i shouldn't have but, the last couple of days i have tried to watch the carbs and except for today i have done well the scale has finnally moved.(today i went to the movies and what's a movie without popcorn) beth

Beth, Thank you for bringing the fitday.com site to our attention. I checked it out and think it is great! Even though I am pre-op, I thought I would use it to manage my pre-op required weight loss. All these years, I have never been good at tracking this kind of info, let alone just calories. This site provides a quick and convenient way to see where you are during any given day and to evaluate trends. I also have found the contributions to the CT Obesity Help site a great source of info and support. Thanks again! Lyn
