Hello Ladies and Gents. I seem to remember something about a Cereal that was high in protein and low in carb. I'm not sure where I read it but is allmost sure that "it" was possible to buy it in "Shop Rite". If you know about it, please let me know the name and/or any other info you might have. I'm so glad to see this board growing in postings, it's a little more personly.....like a big happy family, when we are all located withing reach of each others. Hugs to all from Tove

I think it's Kashi puff. In my opinion, it tastes awful! -Cheryl

Hi Tove, Yea the only one i heard of is Kashi Puff also. When i first tasted it ewwwwww it was aweful. but i did a little experimenting and being Diabetic adding sugar was a no, no. So what i did is i added some of the Nectar protein powder to it and it tasted much, much better. It taste good with the Apple Ecstasy Nectar. It's a big plus since you get more protien in your meal, also it is sugar & carb free. Gigi

Hi Tove, I haven't tried the Kashi Puffs that were mentioned but I have two cereals in my pantry that are high protein. One is the Kashi GoLean which is a High Protein/High Fiber Cereal & Snack. Its actually pretty good. It is a combo of Soy Protein Grahams, Crunchy Fiber Twigs, and Seven Whole Grains & Sesame Honey Puffs. Good to munch on too... (Sshhh.. don't tell anyone that I still munch) The other that I have is: Atkins Flakes which has 0 fat, only 1 g sugar, and 15 g protein for a 3/4 cup serving. These aren't too bad as long as you keep in mind that they aren't going to taste like frosted flakes. LOL There are a few others out there... but I will have to do my research and get back to you on those.

Hi Tove! Kashi Go Lean is the cereal. They taste like cardboard though they are higher in protein than any cereal I have ever seen. I've seen it in Shaws, Stop & Shop and in Big Y, generally in the natural food section, not in with the regular cereal. You coulnd't force feed it to me, but I have a girlfriend that thinks it's great! So, go ahead and give it a try if you crave cereal.

Hi, I have found an excellent cereal/snack that I have been using, it is the Atkins morning start crunchy almond crisp cereal it has 100 cal for 2/3 cup and has net 3 grams of carbs and has 15 grams of protein. I like it because this is the only thing that i eat that has somewhat of a crunch and mixes up the texture of foods, as you know protein is somewhat boring because of the lack of texture, especially chewing the hell out of it. lol Give it a go, i bought it at the vitamin shop.

Thanks a lot for your help.......I am going to try both of them even the almond crunch speak the most to me but that might not be the case once I taste it. A lot of food "speak" to me but once it gets in my mouth, my stomack turns upside down. This place is great for tips and ideas, it's a jungle out there for a 'newbie' like me. Peace and hugs from Tove
