Im going Hiking!!!
Tomorrow (Saturday) I am going camping at Mt Misery Campgrounds in Pachaug State Forest and we are planning on doing the same hike I did the weekend before my surgery back on the 13th. The hike itself is this uphill, rocky terrain that took me 20 mins to get up the last time , huffing and puffing, legs aching, back aching, and its normally only a 5-10 min hike up to a beautiful view. This time its going to be so damn different and I am smiling ear to ear! *sigh* It makes me want to cry it feels so good to know its not going to hurt me. What a difference just under 3 weeks makes!! The weather is gonna be awesome this weekend, I hope everyone plans on getting out and enjoying the last warm days of the year hehe I hope everyone has a good weekend, take care.

Well I've been waiting to hear, how was the hike? Was it any easier this time? I'm curious how you felt being that you were only 3 weeks out?
How was the support group last night? I was bummed that I couldn't make it - I had too many things on my schedule
Keep us posted on your progress.

Kathy
Well the camping thing went great. It was very relaxing and eating shrimp grilled over an open fire was DA BOMB. So much flavor!!!!! As for my hike, it turns out I didnt get to go on it. My husband forgot the leash for our dog and we didnt want him trying to jump off the cliff, so I stayed behind with him while my husband took my friend and her son up to the top. I was ok with it tho. Im sure I could have done it if I didnt have to stay and watch the doggy.
I feel pretty great now. Its so great to be able to walk around and not have pain in my back or legs. I went and ran some errands the other day and it was so easy for me.
The support group meeting went pretty good. Because Dr Bell wasnt going to be there, the meeting didnt last as long as it would have. We had that same great nutrionist that we had when I went to my first meeting and she answered lots of questions for everyone. There were lots of new faces again too.
