gums

Has anyone had any problems with their gums? I am not sure if what I am experiencing has anything to do with the surgery or not. I've lost 25 lbs in 8 weeks and I don't know if the sudden loss of weight could cause infection or bleeding gums? Are gums considered muscle? Could I maybe not taking in enough protien? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Carol
