I just tried Advant Edge Carb Control Nutrition Bar - in Chocolate Cream Pie. It wasn't too bad - although, certainly not delicious. Has anyone else tried these and liked them, but found another protien bar that you'd give a big thumbs up?

I tried them and they are not bad, I fell in love with the Atkins smores bar though, I had only tried my first real smores last spring so I am no smores expert. The Atkins Smores bar has white chunks that are not soft so there is no mistaking them for marshmallows and has a graham cracker flavor all in a chocolate coating, but the taste is pretty good for a protein bar all and all. Ketobars makes a pretty decent chocolate coconut protein bar that somewhat reminded of mounds candy bars. Ok I must point out I am not post-op so I can not tell you if you will find these bars to be good or not. You can find both of these protein bars for about $2 at the health parkade in manchester if you don't want to order tons of them online.

EAS seems to be the bars that I keep going back to. They have SO many flavors. My current Fav is Chocloate Mint. Walmart sells them in little bars. You can also get them by the box at Sams in the bigger size. I've tried SO many, but usually find most to be TOO sweet. Detour bars are YUMMY though, I can't eat them all the time. They are more like a candy bar treat. Maybe you could thry Detour and Uturn for some new flavors.

Hi Lisa- Could you please tell me what EAS stands for? I am looking for a protein bar I can live with. Thanks!

I just came home from shopping at Sams. They had a demo going on of Oneway and Detour bars. I was actually excited - I got to try them both BEFORE buying them, and I thought they were fantastic. Very candy-bar like, but absolutely NO aftertaste! I bought a case of 15 (they contain 15 grams of protein each) for $15.83. I'll also try the EAS bars next time I'm at Walmart - I've heard a few people mention them, so sounds like they are worth a try. Thanks to everyone for their responses. Regards, Kathy

http://www.carbwiselowcarb.com/ You might want to try these, they are called Carbwise and have 20-21g of protein in each 2oz bar. You wont be able to have these right away after surgery but eventually you can. I have only tasted a tiny bit of one of the flavors and it seemed ok postop. They have 3 different flavors. I plan on getting them when Im upgraded to harder foods, right now Im still on soft foods for a few weeks. Also, I went on ebay and looked up the word carbwise and found out they auction off coupons for these bars, I got 30 .50 cents off coupons for $1.25 plus .37 for postage. Thats not a bad deal. Super Walmart sells these bars for $1.47 so they would end up less than a buck each. Hope that helps. Take care. Ellie http://www.weightlosschronicle.com
