Real Meals protein shake
Hey Kathy, I just wanted to reitterate what someone said earlier, that tasting those protein drinks pre-op isnt going to do you one bit of good, wait until after your surgery, when your tastes change, cause THEY WILL. I didnt believe it, but its true. What you may think tastes good now might not after surgery so keep that in mind.
I am still trying to figure out which protein powder to even buy as I have not bought any yet. I just cant stand these prices. They are rediculous. I know I need them but why are they so expensive? Its crazy. Do they last a semi long while or am I gonna go thru them like water? I am military and cant afford blowing 60$ in one shot not to mention if you buy them online you have to pay S&H. Boy do I hope the GNC on base is cheaper. I was thinking of going the Isopure way, but I want to try samples first, I hope they got some. Is there anyone out there who doesnt use protein powders but still gets in most if not all thier protein intake? Please get back to me if you do. Thanks.
Ellie
Hi Ellie,
You can buy the Isopure in a single-serving bottle - about $3, but much cheaper than the powder. I'm pretty sure someone on this list indicated that GNC will let you return a product if you don't like it, plus, they have a discount program for the first week of the month (or something like that).
Someone else mentioned that they added a banana flavored protein powder to sugar free instant banana pudding - they said it was wonderful! Sounds like a great way to get in the protein, and worth a try. I know you can order samples on line, check with Linda W. she has done that - that may help as well.
Can't wait to see you at the support group. I'm delighted to know that you are doing so well.
God Bless
Kathy
