Hi all, I have a question. I am just starting on my journey, I meet with Dr. Aranow on 9/16. The thing is i just have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I found this out cause suddenly my vision became very blurred. If anyone has experienced this that has diabetes, How long does it take to get your normal vision back? I am on Glucophage now and i will be starting insullin on Wed. Thanks

Hi Gigi. I also have type 2 Diabetes and have a lot of blurriness. But here is some good news. I have been on a high protein low carbohydrate diet for a few month now and have lost twenty something pounds. Before the weightloss I was on 3 medications for my diabetes but after dieting and excersising I am now down to only one: )) My eyes has change so much doing that periode and I'm told that it can happend, if your blood sugar is too high.....and if it baunces up and down so does the eye sight. One day I can see with my glasses one day not........if you notice when you do the glucose testing the higher the blood sugar the more blured. I'm having surgery with Dr. Aranow on October 6, and I'm sure my diabetis will dissapere completely afterwords so there fore I have decided to wait to go to the eye doctor until a month or so after (I can't afford glasses two times). I hope this will help you a little. You should offcause allways check with your doctor. If you have any more quistions feel free to email me. Hugs and Congratulation with your decission, Tove
